For 12 years H.A.C.A.N. has served young girls in at-risk communities through a program called Morning Star. This weekly program offers social, educational, and cultural activities to enhance self-esteem, teach valuable skills and foster the growth of these emerging leaders. H.A.C.A.N. then connects its participants and their families to many other beneficial community resources. In addition to Morning Star, H.A.C.A.N. links youth with mentors and teaches classes on recognizing and reporting abuse. Since its inception H.A.C.A.N. has empowered over 1,000 children.
